THE ARTIST: On Why She Makes Art
To feel alive! To be creative is to know how it feels to be like God. It is the thrill of not knowing where you’ll end, working with whatever you have (materials/tools/skills) to tell a story. Not any story but my very own.

Reflections
This was a difficult piece for my classmates and I. We struggled because we weren’t competent with acrylic, which dries up so quickly. I distinctly remember an older classmate (he’s in his 70’s), tearing up his paper in frustration. He abandoned the project eventually.
I had felt proud about ‘Reflections’ not because it was exceptionally good or unique. I was proud of the fact that I didn’t give up despite being utterly frustrated like my classmate. And I kept going at it until the last bit of space is painted. Because I had learnt from my friend from Ipoh many years ago that ‘Disappointment is better than regret’. In this piece, I am happy to say I had neither.
